Position Summary
Perform as Primary Facilitator/Instructor for both initial and periodic training courseware for Advisors and Field Support Personnel. The Associate Director, Training Delivery, will also design and develop effective multi-media training materials and support tools instrumental to positioning Advisors for service and sales success, as well as serve as a mobile, Field-deployable sales mentor and success coach for Advisors.
Position also involves assisting the Vice President, Field Force Training, as necessary in various training and delivery capacities.
Responsibilities
1. Provide primary facilitation, instruction and support for Fast Start Academy (FSA), Advanced Advisor Academy (A3), and Professional Development Course (PDC).
2. Provide Vice President, Field Force Training, complete annual Training Delivery Plan to include FSA, A3, PDC, and any additional courses that might be necessary.
3. Perform regular Field office visits to maintain sales/business process currency as well as to validate current Field Force Training (FFT) curricula and tools.
4. Review and update the forms and literature that support the sales/business process.
5. Update FFT program curricula and courseware for currency and efficacy to include incorporating feedback from Field Training Needs Assessments.
6. Train facilitation skills to FFT department personnel in order to provide a redundant training delivery capability.
7. Serve as FFT subject matter expert (SME) for Field-related projects, initiatives and software development and participate in related focus groups.
8. Offer support to Home Office programs that require Advisor experience.
9. Assist Vice President, Field Force Training, with project management responsibilities and technology initiatives for improving training materials.
10. Possess familiarity with a variety of the Field’s concepts, practices and procedures and rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree (REQUIRED) in Finance or Financial Planning Specialization (PREFERED)
Work Experience
• 5 years relevant experience to include: Large Group Instruction, Training, Teaching and Financial Planning (2 years PREFERED)
• Successful First Command Financial Advisor (2 years PREFERED)
Certifications
• Current Series 6, 63* and 65 investment registrations. (REQUIRED)
• Current Life and Health Insurance licenses. (REQUIRED)
• Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) or Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC) (PREFERED)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must be self-motivated, results-oriented and able to execute duties superbly with minimal supervision. (REQUIRED)
• Must demonstrate robust leadership skills or possess strong leadership potential in a team environment capable of integrating diverse personalities, attitudes and ideas among facilitators, developers and support personnel. (REQUIRED)
• Must have superior interpersonal skills and be able to contribute effectively as a team member of Field Force Training. (REQUIRED)
• Must have superior written & oral communications skills as well as outstanding large audience (25-250) presentation skills. (REQUIRED)
• Must be able to simultaneously manage & prioritize multiple projects at various stages of completion. (REQUIRED)
• Must be highly-competent with respect to standard presentation, word processing, spreadsheet and web-conferencing computer software and equipment. (REQUIRED)
• Must be available to travel approximately 10% of the year for Field office visits (REQUIRED)
• Experienced in developing comprehensive financial plans. (PREFERED)
• Experienced in Long-Term Care, Disability and Property & Casualty Insurance. (PREFERED)
• Must be able to effectively design, produce, edit and review learning objectives and training curriculum in a financial services context. (PREFERED)
