Senior Vice President, Products & Innovation Strategy
Overview
Products & Innovation (P&I) is responsible for developing and managing the key differentiating products and solutions that Mastercard delivers to its customers. The mission of the P&I Strategy team is to add value by improving strategic analysis and driving discussions amongst P&I that lead to innovative and improved decision making. In addition, the team extracts value across P&I, creating efficiencies, improving alignment and facilitating change. The SVP, P&I Strategy leads a small team (3 FTE) responsible for driving the development of P&I strategies, working directly with the EVP, Payments Strategy and the key business unit leaders. This position has high visibility in the P&I team and across the organization and will interact with all functional areas globally.
Role
• Lead in developing, formulating and communicating P&I strategies and objectives which align to Corporate strategy
• Drive integrated solutions and enhancing the execution of P&I global strategy on a local level
• Facilitate discussion amongst the P&I leadership team by sharing insights on competition, market trends and potential opportunities (business development, partnerships, M&A)
• Deepen relationship with key business unit leaders to build a collaborative partnership to design, evaluate and advance their group strategies, ensuring alignment with P&I strategy
• Development of product strategies through the annual strategic planning process
• Applying thought leadership, strategic and analytical rigor to product strategies to drive structure and deeper insight
• Overseeing client engagements across multiple project teams spanning across businesses/functions to drive to actionable recommendations
• Shaping communications of strategic recommendation to drive alignment across P&I and the regions
• Ensuring alignment of strategy to investment opportunities
• Observes market trends and evolutions, monitors the organization's performance against targets and evaluates potential issues in order to implement action plans
• May represent MasterCard at external key events, contributing to expert panels and sharing best practices
All About You
• Track record formulating, implementing and enhancing corporate strategic initiatives and business plans
• Success evaluating complex strategic initiatives, facilitating, influencing and contributing to design and advancement
• Success drawing insights from a broad range of industries and/or markets and reflecting them in solutions and strategies
• Success in leading complex cross-functional projects, teams or committees
• Experience establishing oneself as an advisor to collaborate with stakeholders at the global/regional or local level
• Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
• Consulting background a plus
• Knowledge of financial services and/or payment industry preferred
• Ability to travel periodically
