Excellent opportunity to work under the Head of Risk for the Finance Division in developing, maintaining and executing an effective operational risk management program in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and the organization’s risk appetite. In this highly visible position to senior management, success is dependent upon strong business partnerships in the proactive identification and mitigation of risks through business as usual and changing practices. In addition, the individual is responsible for leading a team of risk professionals in designing and leading risk management of the end-to-end Asset Liability Management, Funding & Liquidity, Investment, Capital Adequacy, Resolution Planning processes and other functions as assigned. Individual is responsible for leading efforts around the resolution of risk issues, completing Risk and Control Self Assessments and influencing enterprise risk management best practices.
Responsibilities:
• Provide program-level thought leadership, strategic thinking and a positive influence on the risk culture
• Drive implementation of operational, enterprise, and regulatory risk management programs within the Treasury/Capital area
• Evaluate business processes to proactively identify risks and propose the appropriate risk mitigation strategies
• Successfully direct and oversee multiple, complex and concurrent projects
• Propose and influence control environment improvements and understand the impact of results
• Serve as a trusted partner and risk advisor to business leaders and other key stakeholders, including Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance and Audit
• Stay current on changes to business processes, internal policy/standards, and relevant regulatory programs and industry trends in the evaluation of the potential impact on the business risk profile
• Build and maintain strong relationships and demonstrate influencing skills to mitigate risks with effective and practical solutions
• Provides leadership, mentoring and professional development opportunities to a team of professionals
Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Audit/Risk Management or Treasury/Finance role
• Management experience and demonstrated ability to provide thought/people leadership, coaching and training
• Comprehensive and current knowledge of banking concepts with a strong understanding of related compliance regulations and laws
• Expert knowledge of internal controls and risk management practices and strategies
• Strong knowledge of Treasury, Capital and Finance business practices
• High- quality and value-added results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Proven track record of a continuous improvement mindset, with intellectual curiosity and strategic thinking
• Strong communicator/collaborator (written/verbal), proven ability to interface will audiences at all levels of the organization, and effectively influence key stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Education and Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required
• Masters of Business Administration preferred
• Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Audit, Chartered Financial Analyst and Financial Risk Manager preferred
• Treasury and risk management experience preferred
