POSITION TITLE
Assistant Vice President and Actuary, Pricing, US Life
LOCATION
Richmond VA
YOUR ROLE
In this role, you will be an integral part of our product design process to ultimately provide the best product options to our customers live their lives the way they want to live for as long as they live. You will be the go-to expert on both existing and new tools utilized in our product pricing processes. You will also have the responsibility of leading a team of Actuarial students and helping them make the most out of this stage of their careers.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage a unit consisting of 5 members of the Actuarial Development Program
• Lead, develop, and train staff
• Manage the units demand and capacity to ensure all new business pricing initiatives are properly supported, production work is completed within designated time frames and assigned Ad Hoc projects are supported and completed within agreed upon timeframes
• Own and Manage the development of new technical tools (models) used for new business pricing activities
• Own and Maintain existing technical tools (models) used for new business pricing activities
• Assist the transfer of completed Pricing Models into the various production environments (Valuation, Projections, IFA).
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years relevant experience in a dynamic business environment
• BA/BS Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related major
• Fellow or Associate of Society of Actuaries (FSA or ASA) designation
• Advanced use of Excel
• Demonstrated team player
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
• Detail and hands-on oriented, with strong problem solving skills
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years of relevant work experience with life, LTC, and Annuity Products (including combination products)
• Strong actuarial modeling skills, with significant experience using GGY AXIS (exposure to MG Alpha is also desired)
• Excellent Team Management Skills
