Prudential Retirement provides financial wellness solutions, including investments and recordkeeping, for the Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Non-Qualified and Individual markets. Currently our client base includes 3,500 corporate, governmental, non-profit and Taft Hartley plan sponsors and more than 4.2 million individuals.
This new role will be accountable for the overall investment platform management functions including development and oversight of platform access policies, product availability, and development of custom investment solutions for clients of Prudential Retirement. The Director, Investment Platform Solutions will also oversee a centralized investment service team providing direct support to internal business partners including sales, relationship management, and operations. This role will work very closely with the Investment Product and Delivery teams to optimally position Prudential’s investment platform to our clients and prospects. The new leader in this role will oversee a team of 5-10 investment professionals responsible for all platform management and client service functions.
Other day to day responsibilities for this new leadership role will include close interactions with risk and compliance areas on regulatory matters, management of fund company relationships, and negotiating contractual arrangements with product manufactures, including our close affiliates. Investment products include: retail mutual funds, registered and unregistered insurance company separate accounts, stable value, collective investment trusts, exchange traded funds, asset allocation (risk based) funds, target date funds, and retirement income products. This new position will report to the VP, Full Service Investments within the Retirement’s Full-Service Solutions Product and Business Management organization.
Key responsibilities and functions include:
• Management of investment platform access policies & governance functions (Investment Availability/Sourcing)
• Management of custom client investment solutions (Product Development/Mgmt.)
• Management of TRS investment solutions centralized support processes (Consolidated Mail Boxes)
• Management of Fund company relationships (Integration and Access)
• Management of centralized RFP investment content (Platform Positioning)
• Negotiating and contracting of fund company revenue arrangements
• Project management centered on client specific investment product and platform needs
• Management and coordination of operational/legal/communications (internal & external) related activities stemming from investment menu changes
• Assistance with risk and compliance matters as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
• 8+ years of retirement/financial services industry experience. Excellent understanding of investment products and services
• Deep financial, quantitative and analytical acumen, including experience investment solutions delivery and risk management
• Deep understanding of applicable regulatory and compliance environment
• Demonstrated experience in establishing and managing effective business controls processes and risk-management culture
• Relentless focus on delivering exceptional client experience while optimizing business results
• Experience in effectively engaging with clients, advisors and third parties and driving optimal business outcomes
• Courage to take intelligent risks, and a proven ability to be a catalyst of decision making within the larger organization
• Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to build high performing teams and a culture consistent with Prudential core values.
• Comfortable not having direct control over all resources required to achieve business goals and empowering others to lead
