The open position is for a Director-level role based in our Chicago office who will be dedicated to the Financial Advisory Services’ growing Transaction Opinion (TO) practice. Our TO practice focuses on serving boards of directors, special committees, investors, trustees and corporate leaders during the transaction process. Whether our clients are looking to fulfill fiduciary duties, mitigate risk or determine corporate value, we offer objective advice based on rigorous analyses and significant transaction experience.
The TO-dedicated Director in our Financial Advisory Services business will be a fully integrated member of engagement teams, which can range in size from two to five members. As a Director, primary activities will include business development; overall project management; presenting analyses and conclusions internally to review committees and externally to the senior management and boards of directors; acting as the lead professional on engagements—managing the day-to-day tasks of projects and serving as a principal contact with client personnel; managing client deliverables; reviewing board and review committee presentations; participating in diligence meetings; directing the efforts of Vice Presidents, Associates and Financial Analysts; negotiating engagement documents; networking with prospects to build revenue producing relationships; and driving business development events and initiatives in the region and in some cases, outside the Chicago area.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be motivated, creative, commercially driven, and possess strong skills in overall project management, leading, managing, performing financial analysis, and business development. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of mergers & acquisitions, valuation, fairness opinions, and an understanding of the role of the financial advisor under Delaware law. Knowledge of solvency opinions is not required, but would be beneficial. Candidates must also have strengths in applied financial theory, analytical capabilities, and verbal and written communication skills.
