Moss Adams is a fast moving, forward thinking organization and we are looking for a Resource Management Specialist to join our team in the Washington Region, seated in our Seattle office.
The Resource Management Specialist works with the Resource Management team to plan our people strategy, manage staff utilization, coordinate staff schedules, resolve conflicts and deploy people. This role contributes to overall firm productivity and promotes a positive work experience for all of our staff. Relationships are key to success in this role and the incumbent will partner with practice leadership, engagement managers, staff, human resources, internal accounting to promote people development and maximize utilization. The Resource Management Specialist will work to balance business needs with economic and operational considerations as well as people development.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain scheduling for assigned client service teams
• Effectively troubleshoot and solve scheduling conflicts, escalating when necessary to leadership or Regional Resource Manager
• Proactively collaborate with assigned client service teams to improve utilization to help achieve target goals:
◦ Identify and challenge leverage on each engagement
◦ Proactively assess client readiness; follow up with management team on engagements
◦ Identify utilization trends such as high/low charged hours, investigate reasons and provide solutions to the problem.
◦ Review actual and projected hours, anticipate availability and creatively identify solutions to minimize unassigned time
◦ Monitor availability report and identify assignments
• Communicate and collaborate regionally or firm-wide for resource sharing opportunities and best practices
• Act as a change agent for the scheduling process and continually recommends process improvements
• Partner with HR and leadership in addressing performance issues and career development for client teams
• Develop relationship with staff to understand their goals and areas of development
• Conduct new hire and intern orientation
• Compile and analyze reports such as scheduled vs budgeted hours, utilization, actual report, projections and more
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Human Resources, business or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 3 years related experience required; resource management or staff scheduling experience in a professional services environment preferred
• Solid experience with conflict management and constructive communication skills with all levels is essential
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and desire/ability to learn and utilize new software and productivity tools
• Excellent listening and comprehension skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Able to manage deadlines and work well under pressure
• Able to prioritize and manage numerous tasks and projects simultaneously
• Able to handle confidential information, apply tact and discretion in sensitive situations
• Able to travel as needed, approximately 25%
