VP, Assistant Controller
This position will provide direct support to the Controller ensuring that all transactions are recorded in an accurate fashion and in line with predefined deadlines. The position will be responsible for ensuring all general ledger accounts are reconciled timely. The position will also provide a direct line of support to operational colleagues and other Finance team members.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analytical analysis
•Pursue continuous improvement of the closing process
•Prepare audit schedules and interface with the auditors during the financial audit process
•Prepare regulatory filings as applicable
•Establish proper records, approvals, documentation and audit trails for all transactions
•Assist in the development of process documentation
•Supervise, mentor and train junior staff members
•Assist the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller on a range of projects, primarily involving financial data collation and analysis
The successful candidate will possess:
•Deep knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards
•Strong conceptual and analytical skills
•Attention to detail, high level of accuracy and ability to review self created work
•Excellent computer skills, especially MS Excel
•Comfortable performing ad-hoc research and analysis
•Excellent oral and written communications skills and problem-solving skills
Education/Job Requirements
•BS/BA degree in Accounting from an accredited university is required
•Public accounting experience is required. Big 4 background is preferred
•A CPA is required
•Knowledge of title & escrow business is preferred
•Familiarity with standard accounting packages (e.g., Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Workday)
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
•6+ years of directly related experience and training
