Financial Analyst
Assurant has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our team! The Financial Analyst position is critical to the planning and forecasting process as they are responsible for supporting Host Analytics (budget application). This position is also responsible for the monthly management reporting package and supporting analytics reviewed with the executive management team in the monthly business reviews.
The Financial Analyst will be the subject matter expert on Host Analytics reporting, responsible for training of finance staff on reporting capabilities and a resource for all users during the budget and forecasting process. Responsibilities include:
• Maintains technical understanding of the PeopleSoft architecture (servers, directories, etc.) and interaction with Host Analytics – i.e. the automated feeds from PeopleSoft to Host and conversely the loading of plan data from Host Analytics back into PeopleSoft.
• Responsible for the administration of the budget system (Host Analytics), including user setup and security, responsible for reconciliation Host Analytics financial data to PeopleSoft financials on a daily basis and for ensuring key chart fields/dimensions (segments, accounts, departments, business units) remain in sync between PeopleSoft financials and Host Analytics.
• Responsible for development of all financial reports for the monthly reporting package which includes financial and operational reporting reviewed by the executive management team during the Monthly Business Review (MBR). Works with Sr leaders to gather and understand reports used in the MBR.
• Responsible for the monthly North America expense analysis documenting major variances to plan on a MTD, QTD and YTD basis for each reporting function (Sales, HR, Finance, Admin, UW, etc.) and maintaining the corporate segment expense schedules, including an executive summary of the Non-Recurring expenses.
• Responsible for various ad hoc financial reporting requests, including constant currency, client specific requests and many other ad hoc high priority critical requests.
Qualifications
Education, Certifications and Experience: Minimum
• Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
• 1-3 years’ experience working in fast paced environment with monthly close deadlines & deliverables

• Insurance accounting
• Foreign currency
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Detail oriented; Strong problem solving skills
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Excel and Word, Experience with Peoplesoft and Host Analytics (or similar EPM system) a plus
