SPOC - Single Point of Contact
This position serves as the single point of contact with borrower (SPOC) from initial contact through final resolution of default. Point of contact includes initial demand up to and including follow-up contact for required extensions; placing both 1st and 2nd default calls as well as responding to inbound calls from the borrower as questions and/or concerns as they arise. Remains abreast of status of loan throughout the default timeline and is prepared to support any and all resolution efforts. Assists and provides borrower with available options up to and including Deed in Lieu and Short Sale where appropriate.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Places 1st and 2nd default call to borrower.
• Initiate to be requested for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd extension (if appropriate) based on conversation with borrower (up to referral).
• Monitors for approval from HUD on extension requests.
• Escalates customer complaint issues to the Escalated Complaint Counselor.
• Responsible for managing all activities within HUD guidelines.
• Facilitates borrowers appropriately if Deed in Lieu or Short Sale is requested.
• Responsible for referral of borrowers to foreclosure based on HUD timelines after exhausting all options.
• Responsible for resolution of issues/opportunities identified by the business unit.
• Performs special assignments/projects as assigned.
• Performs other duties/special projects as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
• High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ year’s related experience in a customer service call center and/or collections environment
• Mortgage servicing experience preferred.
• Stable job history.
• Ability to read and write in English to effectively communicate in writing as well as verbally in person and over the phone.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as legal documents, policies and procedures.
• Ability to calculate basic financial figures and amounts.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
In addition to the Company’s standard background check, this position also requires the successful completion of a background check conducted by the FDIC to include criminal background check, credit check and fingerprinting.
