Section 1: Position Summary
The Senior HR Specialist will work in collaboration with the centers of excellence across Human Resources as well as business leaders within Ascensus to support our goal of continued growth through acquisition. The Senior HR Specialist will lead and contribute to multiple M&A projects to ensure due diligence, integration and associate and leader onboarding activities align to the achievement of company goals.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Partner with the Project Manager on data gathering and analysis regarding on-going M&A projects.
• Support M&A activities by participating in due diligence and analyzing of data to make recommendations on how to properly transition the acquisition target.
• Participate in M&A announcement day and integration meetings onsite by traveling to the acquisition target.
• Effectively communicate Ascensus history, culture and set proper expectations around transition timeline.
• Lead communication efforts to ensure associates and leaders are properly onboarded and assimilated to Ascensus culture and process.
• Continually source feedback to improve and strengthen M&A process.
• Beyond M&A, lead and participate in various projects within Human Resources. Develop communications and/or edit Human Resources policies and guidelines when project requires.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements and presentations for on-going projects and process improvements
• Create project plans where applicable to ensure proper resources, support and expectations are set across working streams.
• Conduct project post-mortems and propose recommendations to identify both successful and unsuccessful portions of the project.
• Research, benchmark, and produce detailed reports, in support of the development of HR management practices.
• Participate in interdepartmental initiatives and projects as a HR Subject Matter Expert (SME)
• Manage client expectations, clearly explain policies, processes, procedures and service timelines
• Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the Human Resources field
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
• General understanding of all functional areas of Human Resources
• Ability to work cross-functionally within Human Resources as well as effectively interact with other departments within Ascensus to build strong relationships
• Ability to shift focus, multi-task, and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
• Productivity – prioritize tasks, develop effective work procedures, manage time well, sense of urgency and an ability to instill it in others when necessary
• Experience maintaining associate information in an HRIS system, Workday required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to regularly assume a broad variety of moderately complex administrative duties, assemble reports containing confidential and sensitive information and respond to questions or requests.
• Advanced knowledge in MS Office software applications
• Requires a high degree of independent judgment and discretion
• Good listening skills; negotiate effectively
