We are currently seeking a global Benefits & Retirement Consultant to provide expert level support for strategy implementation, analysis and design of the benefit and retirement programs to best align with business strategy. The primary areas of focus will be 1) pension and savings plans across all locations, 2) executive pension, savings and benefit plans and 3) serving as an internal consultant across the organization. Partner with local and regional resources to ensure alignment with business objectives as part of a competitive and equitable compensation and benefits structure that will support RGA’s ability to attract, engage, recognize and reward high performing employees.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the organization’s expert on retirement, pension and savings plans, partnering with Finance to ensure sustainable solutions are in place. Advise leadership as to potential funding issues through ongoing analysis of cost trends, statutory requirements and demographic trends across the organization.
• Lead complex projects, partnering with internal and external resources to deliver outcomes on time and within budget.
• Ensure executive benefit and retirement programs are well understood by participants through development and delivery of effective communication programs.
• Take a lead role in Human Resources’ M&A team to ensure proper alignment of benefit and retirement platforms to target company business model and cost structure.
• Partner with local/regional C&B experts to regularly assess strategy, design and costs of all benefit and retirement programs across the Company to ensure cost effective and sustainable programs are in place.
• Monitor and analyze trend information as well as economic data to ensure company benefits and retirement program strategy is competitive, sustainable and responsive to business needs.
• Serve as strategic advisor to or member of Benefits or related committees across the organization, such as the U.S. Benefits Committee, U.S. Pension & Savings Plan Committee, Canada SERP Committee to ensure organizational benefits and retirement philosophy is consistently applied.
• Effectively partner with external providers on design and delivery strategies for program changes.
• Work with regional C&B experts to communicate program details and train all regional and local HR staff in benefit and retirement philosophy.
Requirements
• 10+ years of professional benefits and retirement experience with a focus on global benefits and pension and savings plans consulting.
• Academic background in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field.
• Formal advanced training and knowledge in pensions and benefits, such as actuarial designation and/or benefits designation such as CEBS.
• Proven global experience designing, implementing and maintaining successful benefits and retirement strategies and programs.
• Outstanding communications skills, including demonstrated experience presenting plans to governance committees and advising executives.
• MS Excel (including advanced functions) skills a requirement.
• Public company and strong financial experience required.
• Demonstrated experience in compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cultures and organizations; strategically focused on continuous improvement.
• Action oriented and adept at working in a fast paced, growing organization.
