Reporting to PULSE Manager of Implementation, the PULSE Implementation Project Manager (IPM) will manage a wide variety of implementation/conversion support initiatives for PULSE direct connect issuer and acquirer processors and signature debit participants that may include any combination of hardware, software configurations, online or offline definitions, or network infrastructure designs. Projects will consist of design, development and delivery of various customer solutions that can be defined within multiple processing platforms and can span across multiple network gateways (i.e. Star, NYCE, Maestro, Interlink etc.) and EFT message formats (PULSE ISO 8583, Base I & II, SMS, etc). The IPM will manage client project request for both domestic and international clients that are broad in nature requiring conceptualization and initiative to support. Implementation Project Manager is responsible for creating and tracking project plans, conducting status meetings, monitoring issues, impacts and dependencies.
IPM will also be responsible for coordinating project activities with vendors and customer solution providers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and meet quality objectives.
Candidate with a unique blend of business development and project management experience managing medium to large scale project initiatives coupled with knowledge of electronic payments systems (i.e. POS, ATM, ISO 8583) is strongly desired. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of assigned project activities related to PULSE processors, direct and indirect in nature, in coordination with various departments in PULSE. Such activities include but are not limited to the following:
a. Overall IPM of specific product implementation projects. Examples of which would be direct or indirect connections, Debit Solutions or Discover Debit programs, processor interface enhancements, newly marketed products, etc. Act as Subject Matter Expert in one or more conversion subject areas. Provide training on reports and adjustment systems to clients.
The IPM is responsible for the entire processor interface as is relates to connecting to PULSE. This includes coordination of the circuit installation, online and offline connectivity, accurate database (CED) configurations, certification of the application, transmission of reports and files, accurate billing, and other functions as identified. The IPM is responsible for validating that all aspects of the Processors connection to the Switch are accurate.
During conversions, which typically occur during middle of night installations, the IPM is responsible for hosting the conversion conference call and for monitoring and troubleshooting the Processors connection using various FIS application troubleshooting tools.
IPM is responsible for the accurate completion of documentation for submission on behalf of Processors and Financial Institutions to vendors, associations, gateway partners and other departments within PULSE to facilitate implementation.
IPM may manage non-routine, complex processing and change requests, as well as strategic customer initiatives requested by senior management, sales and product team.
b. Responsible for project implementation management tools such as: project plan, procedures, project schedules and associated task dependencies, risk list, scope documentation and project closeout. Work closely with Processor clients on problem detection and resolution related to implementations and processor issues.
The IPM provides technical expertise to administer an effective implementation and serves as an escalation point for complex issues. They troubleshoot, gather information, and work with various other technical resources to resolve Processor issues.
c. Coordinate meetings and mange client communication and relationship process during the entire implementation/conversion project life cycle. Coordinate meetings in order to enhance the performance of Processor clients.
d. The IPM works to improve performance by redesigning Processor configurations to maximize throughput or build interface redundancy.
e. Facilitate compliance by Processor clients with all PULSE By-Laws, rules and/or regulations.
The IPM is responsible for educating the Processors on compliance issues as they relate to PULSE or the other networks that we provide Gateway services.
f. Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams and coordinate cross functional meetings to discuss implementation/conversion requirements. Cross train with appropriate team personnel in order to provide comprehensive team capabilities.
2. Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the PULSE switch processing and capabilities to include proficiency in all application tools.
The Implementation Specialist must be proficient in PULSE ISO 8583 Specifications and all applicable addenda, FIS CED database, and all FIS troubleshooting tools, including audits, logscan, statmons and history report. Must also be proficient in the IBM system and be familiar with BIN file creations, warehouse files, all report offerings, MTFs and routing tables. Must also have working knowledge of an MPLS network as it relates to protocols, IP addressing and connectivity.
3. Maintain a daily working relationship with PULSE operations groups in order to monitor day-to-day activities of the network relative to assigned accounts.
The IPM works closely with PULSE PCC, PULSE IBM, PULSE Tandem Tech, PULSE Network Services groups, and the Discover, Visa & MasterCard integration teams. Close interaction with all other areas of PULSE, including Finance, Sales, Product, EPMO, and Customer Support, Production Support is expected as well. These groups all play an integral part in successful conversions and troubleshooting production issues.
4. Perform additional duties such as maintaining correct network paperwork standards, etc. as assigned. 5. Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to require standards and processes. Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of work experience in hardware and software configurations, online and offline definitions or network infrastructure designs.
