Responsibilities
The Billing Specialist will provide administrative and client service support for a variety of Benefits Administration deliverables, such as:
• Prepare monthly premium invoice summary and detailed reports according to client specification and pre-negotiated billing deadlines by auditing and reconciling against monthly insurance carrier invoices, thereby preparing them for payment
• Interact with internal, client, and insurance carrier partners on an ongoing basis to resolve billing related issues
• Coordinate carrier/vendor payment processes using agreed upon methods
• Report invoice adjustments to Benefits and COBRA units for processing
• Work with technical resources to factor client rules and rate information into billing databases
Qualifications
• A successful candidate will have 1-3 years of experience (required), 3-5 years of experience (preferred) in the data processing or insurance-related fields
• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office programs, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook. Intermediate Excel skills required (Advanced, preferred)
• Accounts payable and/or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Knowledge of health insurance programs or medical billing preferred
• Strong organizational and communications abilities are critical to success in this position, as team members are expected to manage multiple priorities and work with a moderate amount of supervision
• A valid driver’s license is required
