The Role
Analyst of Alternative and Private Debt Strategies will oversee data administration, perform and deliver on reporting and analytic assignments/projects, and provide general support for the Alternative and Private Debt portfolios in the General Account.
Responsibilities
• Identifies, recommends, and automates process improvements that improve efficiency and quality within Alternative and Private Debt Strategies
• Champions and enhances data administration within Alternative and Private Debt Strategies
• Develops and enhances reporting and analysis of the Alternatives and Private Debt Strategies portfolios.
• Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s)of responsibility.
• Consults on assignments and/or projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Generates reports and provides analysis to model scenarios to support internal and external stakeholders’ decision making.
• Writes and edits a broad range of communications and presentations for internal audiences.

• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) or responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
• Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Performs and delivers on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Collaboration
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal clients and or management, finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
Education
• 4 Year/Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)
• Preferred majors include quantitative disciplines such as data science, mathematics, statistics, economics / econometrics, accounting, finance, etc.
• Expected to complete the CAIA exam within 3 years
Experience
• 3-5 years of increasing experience in data administration, business analysis, or systems analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
• Experience in investments, portfolio analysis, or investment research that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• High proficiency with Microsoft Access of other database products
• Experience with FactSet
• Apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
• Demonstrates solid project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
• A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
• Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
• Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
• Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions.
