Responsibilities
• Prepares federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts; also prepares related income tax work papers.
• Identifies accounting and income tax issues and proposes strategies to resolve them.
• Responds and prepares correspondence to taxing authorities.
• Researches tax matters.
• Effectively communicates with all levels of the engagement team and client personnel (i.e., job status and budget) on a timely basis.
• Works with a team on a variety of engagements.
• Communicates status of work and issues with seniors, managers or partners on a timely basis.
• Develops strong relationships with firm and client personnel. Ability to proficiently use the firm’s income tax preparation software.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Master’s Degree in Taxation a plus.
• Minimum one year of experience.
• Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.2
• Exposure to, or basic understanding of, income tax a plus.
• Must meet minimum requirements to sit for the CPA exam or already passed the CPA examination.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
• Must be able to handle multiple priorities, tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
