The IT Project /Program Manager oversees one or more projects on an ongoing and regular basis. Individually, or as part of a team, responsible for project planning and statusing, risk management, and issue resolution. Duties may include: assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project, communicating project status and issues to team and management, acting to reduce risk and resolve issues. Coordinates with other projects and work groups
Essential Functions
• Independently manages multiple programs typically large size and complexity
• Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale projects or a program
• Developing project deliverables including project plans, schedules, and status reports
• Facilitating meetings including preparing agendas and coordinating schedules and materials, documenting meeting minutes, following-up on action items; gathering, organizing and distributing project related documentation
• Prepares program documents: program roadmaps, plan, scope, and schedules and established program governance
• Participate in the creation and execution of project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
• Implements engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with our methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of programs as measured by goals and customer satisfaction
• Minimizes our exposure and risk across multiple projects ;Conducts risk monitoring and controls during a project’s duration to ensure ability to achieve expected outcomes, on time and on budget
• Defining the strategic approach to program delivery and ensuring the alignment of each projects tactical delivery plan aligns with this approach
• Utilizing defined best practices to develop program specific practices and processes to ensure alignment with program goals and strategy. Defines needed practices and processes to ensure successful program delivery where no best practices exist.
• Collaborating with Program Stakeholders and leadership to prioritize program deliverables
• Designing program success measures, tailoring existing best practices to the needs of the program team and stakeholders.
• Providing oversight and supervision to program and project managers to ensure successful delivery of IT programs within defined scope, quality, schedule, and budget.
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
• Experience working in matrix organization
• 12 years’ experience or more with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Visio)
• 10 years’ experience with Microsoft Project and PPM Tools (Project Server)
• 15 years or more Title Insurance acumen and IT experience
• Understanding varies IT delivery methodologies (RUP, ITIL, Agile, Waterfall)
• Experience creating an environment that motivates, inspires and respects others.
• Skilled at providing clarity of purpose and goals to all involved and ensuring alignment across all aspects of their programs.
• Possess 5+ years’ experience managing IT programs from concept through business implementation
• Leadership skills to inspire coworkers, subordinates, and program team members to attain goals and pursue excellence.
• Detail oriented possessing high organization and planning skills.
• Strong analytical skills as well as ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Strong Leadership skills: Ability to build team cohesiveness across multiple projects to achieve successful program results
• Strong Project Accounting skills: Integrates financial data for multiple projects ; Develops project cost estimates and forecasting
• Professional communication is a must: provides executive level communication of program and project status to team and business owners throughout the duration of the program to make certain all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of risks, issues and activities related to the program
• Anticipates and addresses issues openly and quickly
• Ensures that sensitive information is always tactfully communicated
• Handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion and respect for the individual
• Listen to others and accept input from team members
• Complies with and enforces standard policies and procedures
Typical Education
• BS/BA Required
Typical Range of Experience
• Typically have 12+ years of directly related experience.
• 5+ years program management experience
• 5+ years’ experience managing direct reports
• 12+ years’ experience managing large cross functional project teams
License or Certification
• PMP Certificate Required
• CSM (Certified Scrum Master) Preferred
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification preferred
