The Network Infrastructure Consultant role within our TMC Practice (Technology and Management Consulting) under the Infrastructure group provides you with a unique opportunity to be a part of our dynamic practice. As a Consultant, your initial role will include working directly with our experienced and senior consultants and you’ll be exposed to a large cross-section of engagements and projects that develop your career. Some of the major area we cover within our engagements include cloud services (Office 365, Microsoft Azure IaaS, rights management, MDM, SSO, etc.), security (authorization, authentication, SIEM, DLP, AV, Layer 7), storage and compute (VMWare/HyperV, SAN/server architecture, etc.), and Network (Route, Switch, Control).
Many of the job responsibilities required of a Consultant are directly related to delivering the operational services to clients, remotely and on their premises, to support, configure and manage the infrastructure we supply to them, as well as servicing their needs ranging from desktop support, change management and implementation, troubleshooting, break/fix and working with account managers to improve our managed services delivery to clients.
You will use your strong analytical skills to develop and understanding of client needs and work with engineers to design solutions to meet requirements. As your skills develop, you will be able to take on additional design responsibilities and move away from pure client support services.
Examples of assignments include:
• Supporting managed service clients (desktop support, server management, patching, capturing needs)
• Participation in project scoping and technical plan development
• On-boarding new clients / Providing onsite and remote support
• Support in designing infrastructure solutions to meet business objectives
• Office 365 deployments
• Cloud/Virtual environments in VMWare and HyperV
• MFA/Single Sign On (Okta, Ping, Azure SSO, ADFS)
• Backup and Recovery
• Workstation Management and controls
• Project task management and execution
• Infrastructure operations and management
• Testing of proposed solutions within lab environments
• Adopting and learning new technologies
As a Consultant, you will receive mentoring from our experienced team and have access to a variety of technology and training to jump start your career. You will be exposed to several aspects of all our Engineering Consulting Practices, including:
• Consulting process, tools and methodologies
• Technology assessments
• Referenced architecture design and best practices
• Engaging with clients and developing their IT initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
• Degree or Certification in IT related field
• A minimum three to five years of experience with the Windows Desktop and Server platform, some virtualization, infrastructure configurations, server management, storage, and networking
• Familiar with standard IT practices and policies
• Ability to travel up to 90% locally
• Ability to support and administer desktop operating systems, mobile devices and common applications
• Some hands-on experience deploying Microsoft cloud solutions, virtual environments, cloud-based security tools, and adhering to best practices regarding architecture
• Experience working in a client serving or customer service role—comfort communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences is a must
• Providing helpdesk type services
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong judgment, issues management, and problem analysis techniques
• Strong presentation, facilitation, time management, and prioritization skills
• Proven ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to balance priorities on simultaneous projects
• Ability to autonomously and quickly learn both technical and non-technical skills
• Familiarity with IT frameworks and best practices including ITIL, COBIT, NIST
