The Project Manager is accountable for leading all aspects of a complex SDLC IT project. This includes pursuit and/or project delivery including scope, timelines, resources, budget, risks and issues, relationships, and communication. It is the Project Manager’s responsibility to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets or exceeds quality expectations while adhering to the Allstate project delivery methodology. Capable of independent leadership, providing all aspects of project management on projects that have a high level of risk, organizational span, business complexity, team size, and interdependencies.
Key Responsibilities
• Directs strategic initiatives project of moderate to high complexity and impact
• Engages appropriate resources to resolve issues and identifies contingency plans and alternative solutions as needed
• Drives project execution. Provide direction and oversight throughout project lifecycle to project team to meet applicable business requirements
• Assess and reports health of projects in an objective manner, maintaining project transparency and accurate status; keeping project sponsor, delivery area and IT leadership informed
• Proactively identifies, resolves, and escalates (as needed) project risks/issues to project sponsors as needed
• Ability to adapt and respond to changes both inside and outside the projects/program
• Ability to predict risk areas, design mitigation/contingency strategies and execute on these strategies to avoid issues
• Ability to proactively monitor project budgets and resource allocations
• Ability to lead across a wide variety of project types
• Ability to perform within periods of ambiguity
Job Qualifications
Education:
College degree or equivalent experience
Experience
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience with SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) projects
• PMP Certification (Preferred but not required)
• Demonstrate track record in delivering moderately complex software development projects and with a strong focus on execution
• Good written/verbal communication and strong facilitation skills for communicating at all levels
• Demonstrate strong skills in team leadership and conflict management
• Demonstrate experience in managing project budgets and forecasting
• Good consultative, collaborative, customer focus skills
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
• Must be very comfortable working in Microsoft Project.
