Position Overview
The person in this role will be a part of the Derivative Operations team within Investment and Capital Markets Operations. Derivative Operations provides direct functional support to Investment and Capital Markets Trading Desks. As a Derivatives Operations analyst, the analyst will provide middle office and back office trade support functions such as new security set ups, trade confirmations, settlements, clearance and reconciliations for all derivative activity.
Your Work Falls Into Four Primary Categories:
Trade Support
• Perform trade confirmation, settlement, clearance and reconciliation activities
• Assist portfolio managers and Data Management Team with Security Master set ups prior to trading, as well as ongoing support throughout the life cycle of the trade
• Use Bloomberg, Offering Circulars, and trader comments to collect, reconcile, update and review financial instrument data into Aladdin SecurityMaster, for wide spread downstream consumption
• Interface with and communicate to external Brokers and Dealers and other internal business areas
• Assist the Legal Doc process - Legal Doc Preparation, Review, approvals, timely delivery to the counterparties, research & resolution of any issues etc.,
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports
• Follow and Maintain process and other required documentation
Payment Processing
• Verify derivative payments and margins
• Identify potential settlement discrepancies and negotiate quick resolutions without adverse impact to Freddie Mac
New Counterparty Onboarding & New Initiatives Testing and Implementation
• Assist on New Initiatives and Products related evaluation, testing and setups
• Assist onboarding of new counterparties
Operations & Technology
• Identify and resolve problems and data discrepancies
• Understand all applications used and be involved in testing and identifying/implementing any issues/process improvements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
• Strong ability to balance baseline activities and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency working with data and data mining
• Effective written and oral communication skills
