Job Description
• Demonstrates understanding of business unit and/or industry systems, processes and requirements
◦ Represents business area externally in benchmarking and best practice efforts.
◦ Applies business and industry experience to identify resource needs and process best practices in area of responsibility.
◦ Represents the business area in strategic planning activities with senior level executives.
◦ Understands departmental cost structure and touch points to other areas. Initiates implementation of solutions that positively impact profitability and operational efficiencies.
• Gathers and analyzes business and stakeholder requirements. Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures.
• Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
• Applies best practices when summarizing, consolidating, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leaders and officers.
• Analyzes/forecasts volumes, trends and resources within department as well as with business partners and clients.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• May direct the work of other staff members or lead a virtual cross functional team.
• Recommends organizational strategic direction.
• Ensures successful completion of projects.
• Drives complex projects of critical importance to support organizational objectives.
• Anticipates future impacts and needs for adaptations and changes in end-to-end processes at a global or enterprise level.

Job Qualifications
Business Acumen – 3: Has a mastery level of understanding of multiple areas of business knowledge to successfully meet work objectives, as demonstrated by knowledge of Allstate’s business units that relate to work responsibilities, understanding and monitoring appropriate key business indicators as well as what the competition is doing, ability to communicate clearly to business partners regarding various organizational functions, ability to interpret and draw conclusions from business data, understanding of overall business needs and desires that apply to a project or effort, knowledge of Allstate processes performed by other areas and how they interact, analysis of department initiatives and spotting new opportunities, analysis of new product offerings and seeing their effects on technology/business requirements and use of Allstate product/service knowledge to find business solutions.
Facilitation – 3: Demonstrates mastery of facilitation in challenging situations of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of facilitating meetings, processes and operations without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to coach facilitation by setting the example, giving instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
Influencing – 3: Finds common ground and looks for mutually-acceptable solutions; builds consensus. Uses persuasive power rather than position power. Follows through on commitments or explains why they cannot be met; stands by decisions. Identifies and deals effectively with client resistance through dialogue and feedback. Able to identify outstanding or unresolved issues, and develop and sell a strategy for handling them. Demonstrates confidence, resourcefulness and drive in meeting objectives. Internal Consulting – 3: Worked independently or led a team in a consulting situation. Identified and dealt effectively with client resistance through dialogue and feedback. Able to identify outstanding or unresolved issues, and develop and sell a strategy for handling them. Demonstrated confidence, resourcefulness and drive in meeting consulting objectives. Established the ability to influence clients through leadership, enthusiasm and effective communication. Able to draw conclusions and make recommendations from incomplete data. Experienced in client interviewing and in listening techniques. Comprehends client perspective and business need quickly. Willingly works to resolve conflicts, issues and differences of opinion.
Problem Solving – 3: Demonstrates the ability to resolve difficult problems and implement solutions that may go beyond the scope of initial client or user complaint. Develops multiple potential solutions to problems. Recognizes key issues inherent in problems and addresses them in relation to their severity and importance to the organization. Evaluates solutions for long term benefits and impact, not settling for short term resolution only. Involves stakeholders from other functional areas in problem resolution, influencing others outside of area of responsibility to take action. Demonstrates persistence and thoroughness. Long Description

Demonstrates capability to provide meaningful and constructive positive and negative feedback, backed by examples. Effectively solicits input from associates. Keeps people informed and channels of communication open. Capable of constructing a complex communications plan. Capable of adapting to the changing needs of the situation and audience.
Thriving in Change – 3:Possess a mastery level of understanding of Thriving in Change as demonstrated by ability to set the example, provide leadership, coach peers and team members, and raise the level of performance of others during changes that may disrupt productivity and cause degeneration of morale, handle ambiguity and uncertainty with self-confidence and maturity, adapt management style according to current situations and people needs, promote new solutions, recommendations and ideas by fostering a positive and productive climate, demonstrate the ability to make decisions under time pressures and with limited information.
Experience
Education/ Experience/Certifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience required. Experience leading consulting teams and/or projects required. MBA, insurance industry knowledge or consulting certifications (i.e. BPM, Six Sigma, ASQ, Facilitation) a plus
