Job Description
Everest National Insurance Company, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd has an opportunity available for an experienced QA Specialist in Insurance Systems to join the Everest Insurance Operations team in the Liberty Corner, NJ
The QA Specialist will report directly to the Director of Platform Integration and work collaboratively with all departments to provide support for new/changed systems, products, and requests across multiple lines of business. The position is responsible for:
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the commercial insurance policy issuance system (Policy Decisions)
• Creation and documentation of all business requirements for enhancements to products and functionalities within the policy issuance system
• Investigation and reporting of all problems relative to the policy issuance system and resolution of such issues
• Timely response to field requests or inquiries regarding policy issuance system functionalities or processes
• Analysis and documentation of all updates within the policy issuance system
• Collaboration with business areas and process analysts in the creation, analysis, updating and documentation of new products and other enhancements
• Identification and implementation of improvements to facilitate business needs and to better align with corporate initiatives and objectives
Responsibilities:
• Conducting UAT testing of all updates within the policy issuance system
• Creating and reviewing specifications for enhancements, within the policy issuance system, with all stakeholders and ensuring deliverables are consistent with business requirements
• Documenting and reporting all problems and discrepancies to vendor and ensuring timely delivery of all corrections
• Analyzing and reviewing ISO, AAIS, NCCI and Rating Bureau circulars to ensure coverage's, rules, rating and forms are properly implemented in the systems’ deliverables
• Investigating users’ inquiries, ensuring resolution of assigned reported problems, and communicating all developments timely to stakeholders
• Documenting all testing and activities relative to updates and maintenance of the policy issuance system
• Creating and submitting proprietary form changes to vendor utilizing Forms Authoring Tools
• Ensuring compliance and compatibility of product output within the policy issuance system with all regulatory filings and product requirements
• Assisting process analysts in creation and updating of processing guidelines to reflect the latest functionalities, coverage's, and options and communicating timely to stakeholders
• Monitoring trends and reporting developments relative to problems detected and collaborating with vendor in instituting corrections
• Creating test cases and user scenarios to assist business in roll-out of new products or initiatives
• Documenting and publishing advisements, including release notes, to all users regarding updates made to the policy issuance system
• Coordinating and processing automatic transactions to support business processes and initiatives
• Identifying and implementing improvements by continually reviewing processes and aligning with changing business needs.
Job Qualifications
• Minimum 3+ years previous work experience with a commercial property and casualty insurance carrier and/or agency
• Experience in rating, issuance and/or User Acceptance Testing in a commercial insurance policy issuance system; experience with Insurity's Policy Decisions system is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of multiple commercial insurance products, transaction processing flow, and systems functionality
• Experience and demonstrated skill in documenting activities with a strong attention to detail
• Strong sense of individual ownership and accountability
• Ability to multitask many projects and responsibilities to ensure progress is being made to meet the business needs
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to achieve results within and across diverse organizational units and disciplines
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work constructively in a team environment as well as independently
