At CoBank, the Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of enhanced income forecasting for the bank and Treasury Department utilizing the asset/liability management model (QRM), including new modes of analysis of the bank's earnings. Provides support to the trading desk, transfer pricing area and other bank departments related to ALM management and pool reporting. Provides quantitative and analytical support related to Funds Management and interest rate risk management pools. Analyzes the performance of the Funds Management Center including detailed analysis of basis mismatch, return on equity and various other sources of income.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participates in the preparation of earnings forecasts for budgeting and Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) reporting.
• Participates in ongoing development and implementation of enhanced functionality of the asset/liability management model, and works closely with the Enterprise Risk Management team to ensure ongoing calibration and validation.
• Assists on overall risk management modeling architectures and validation procedures to ensure consistency and integrity of modeling techniques employed across the Finance department.
• Advises on the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial risk management and asset/liability management applications and interfaces, and provides analytic support systems for the Treasury division and other finance functions
• Completes detailed analysis of funds management income, including thorough understanding of actual performance compared to forecast/budget
• Coordinates on the resolution of funds management reporting and pool reporting issues
• Provides analysis and review of reports for senior management
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or relevant discipline.
• Five (5) or more years of income forecasting and/or financial analysis experience, preferably in an institution with a complex balance sheet; or an appropriate combination of education and experience

Qualifications
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• Experience with asset/liability management models (preferably QRM) strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills and the proven ability to apply financial theories and concepts to solve capital markets problems.
• Knowledge of financial reporting systems, and experience with combined and/or consolidated financial reporting environments including multiple data sources.
• Advanced technical skills in performing complex financial analysis and querying data within databases and/or spreadsheets. Comfortable working with large data sets from multiple data sources.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, banking trends and techniques, and their applications.
• Ability to perform accurately and timely under tight deadlines and in stressful circumstances. Attention to detail is critical.
• Ability to effectively research and compile data from financial information systems, databases, spreadsheets, and other data sources.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to creatively present the results of research and analysis to impact opinion.
• Ability to deliver results accurately under tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and schedule work and projects effectively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent detail and customer service orientation.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
