Have you managed programs and features that drive high volume payments capabilities? Do you have a track record employing analytics and business intelligence, as well as qualitative observation, to identify market needs? The Senior Product Manager – Payments will lead the strategic direction and product lifecycle for Netspend’s bill pay, transfer, and payments capability set. This is a high-visibility role with the opportunity to interact with external partners and internal business development leaders, lead new initiatives, drive the product roadmap, and provide general thought leadership within the Product Management team.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has demonstrated success at building payments solutions that leverage traditional and emerging payments technologies which include: ACH, card network (VisaDirect, MasterCard MoneySend, PulsePay), checks, homegrown “on us” networks, and 3rd party vendor capabilities. Prior work experience at a Payments Aggregator, Money Services Business (MSB) or FinTech firm preferred.
This role will be focused on the development of platform capabilities and customer-facing features.
The job requires experience authoring product requirements (preferably in an Agile environment) and working closely with engineering teams to translate those requirements into successfully launched products. While you don’t need to be a software developer, a proven ability to work directly with engineering teams is important.
The Senior Product Manager – Payments.
Responsibilities
• Become the subject matter expert for a subset of Netspend Platform’s money movement capabilities (ie, Transfers and Payments).
• Develop deep understanding of how your product offerings impact each of Netspend’s distribution channels & product types.
• Analyze customer behavior to Provide competitive analysis for market requirements documents and launch plans
• Create financial models to evaluate opportunities and determine ROI
• Partner closely with legal and compliance to gather requirements and plan for ongoing regulatory considerations surrounding Netspend’s Money Transmission Licenses
• Serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales and account management channels, and key customers like Customer Service, Issuing Banks, and Compliance
• Analyze potential vendor relationships and, where necessary, manage existing relationships.
• Interface with customers through field research, usability studies, and surveys to identify/prioritize product needs and ensure an industry-leading loyalty feature set
• Analyze customer behavior to Provide competitive analysis for market requirements documents and launch plans
• Identify, track, report, and act on key loyalty feature success metrics
• Lead cross-functional design, development, marketing, and business development teams to drive growth in product usage and adoption
• Collaborate with the applications development team to define clear product requirements in an Agile environment
• Work with internal and external customers to uncover key needs and actively manage bug/enhancement requests
Skills/Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or business; MBA preferred
• 10-12 years payments industry experience
• 3-5 years in product management or similar role
• Demonstrated success leading product strategy from concept to launch to sunset
• Ability to see the big-picture/vision, with the drive to make that vision a reality
• Experience presenting to and influencing all levels of the organization including C-level executives
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills, and experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Must enjoy spending time in the market (with customers and clients) to understand their problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market
• Experience authoring clear and actionable requirements in a high-urgency, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to statistically analyze large volumes of product performance data to deliver actionable, business-relevant insights
• Experience with SQL and Engineering Background a plus
• Ability to travel at least 10%
