Description
The ISG Expense Management, Reporting and Analytics team is responsible for planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and business measurement for the Individual Life and Annuities Business. The successful candidate for this position will provide support to the consolidation team that is responsible for delivering expense data to multiple areas, such as the Life Planning and Analysis team and Life Controllers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for data management that creates the monthly and quarterly expense and headcount results for Individual Life. This includes:
◦ Monthly close responsibilities for accruals, and reconciliation of allocations, and other expenses, such as chargeback expenses
• Responsible for assisting the members of the expense team in the budget and forecasting process. This includes:
◦ Documentation and communication of business and expense assumptions
◦ Support the modeling tools and applications and assist team and ad hoc requests as necessary
◦ Understand and document business drivers, volume assumptions and financial impact of special projects and initiatives
◦ Monitor required timelines and deliverables for adherence
◦ Assist in creating efficiencies and improvements in processes
This is a fast-paced environment with high visibility and includes interaction with executives and management at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with strong financial, analytical, interpersonal, collaboration and computer skills. Ability to work independently and interact in a team setting, including teams remotely located.
Qualifications
• 4 year degree or equivalent business experience in finance/accounting
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong partnering skills
• Solid background in finance or accounting
• Ability to think strategically with a continual improvement mindset
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Applications
• Working knowledge of the Financial applications, Oracle GL, Obero, etc.
• Ability to balance individual and team assignments/responsibilities
• Knowledge of metrics and measurements is a plus
