Description
The Business Consulting Services practice provides comprehensive construction audit services to clients throughout the Western United States. We are currently seeking a Construction Audit Manager to be part of our growing Business Consulting practice. The Construction Audit Manager will be expected to perform and manage construction program reviews and cost audits, and provide construction best practice consulting advice to clients. This person will continue to develop industry and technical expertise in internal audit services and construction cost management. They will contribute to the service team by sharing ideas with other staff, and must support critical reasoning with proper firm, industry and professional standards. The Construction Audit Manager will also be responsible for developing strong client relationships and contributing to the growth of the construction audit practice.
Responsibilities:
• Identifies areas of highest risk to achievement of client goals
• Reviews documentation and conducts interviews necessary to evaluate processes and controls designed to manage high-risk areas
• Documents, tests, and analyzes client business processes to improve bottom line results
• Prepares effective written reports and supports findings with proper documentation
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, engineering, construction management or related field required; Master’s Degree in Accounting, Engineering or Construction Management preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in internal audit, contract audit, construction accounting, project controls, claims and dispute resolution, or related field
• Proven track record within internal/external audit environment evidencing strong performance in conducting high quality audit work, findings and reports
• Familiar with risk-based and business process focused audit approaches
• Understanding of internal controls as applied to contract auditing, change order analysis, and payment application approvals
• Demonstrated strong technical audit and cost accounting skills, including interviewing, data collection, and quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques
• CPA, CIA, CFE or CCA designation preferred
• Professional demeanor; Exceptional client service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%
