Procurement Director (PMO) – FS Controls Advisory

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Controls Advisory Procurement Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of engaging with procurement departments from clients of Grant Thornton, and staffing independent contractors to GT on available assignments. Client base consists of firms within the financial services industry, primarily banking institutions. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining relationships with clients’ procurement department, actively recruiting skilled professionals to independently contract on assignments, gathering market data on rates payable, interviewing candidates to determine suitability for requisitions, and monitoring client satisfaction with staffed individuals. The Procurement Director works closely with partners and staff and plays a key role in client management and business development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain relationships with procurement departments of GT clientele
• Coordinate with procurement departments to identify current and prospective requisitions for projects and temporary staffing assignments
• Ascertain client’s key criteria for candidate selection, including educational background, work history, certifications, and project related experience
• Recruit individuals to serve in an independent contract role with GT whose skillsets and attributes meet client expectations
• Interview candidates to determine overall skillset, special skills & abilities, location & ability/willingness to travel, previous compensation range, and conflicts of interest
• Maintain a database of individuals deemed suitable for use on GT projects
• On a regular basis, determine availability of individuals within the database
• Gather market data on rates payable for various skillsets, project categories, and role types
• Based on feedback from procurement departments related to upcoming roles, forecast demand for skillsets and project experience, and scout for talent accordingly
• Review and approve resumes/bios for individuals prior to client submission
• Track client satisfaction and performance of independent contractors staffed on GT engagements
• Follow up with independent contractors on assignment to determine happiness with role, ensure ability to follow through on contract term
• Interact with the Firm’s Human Resources, and Legal Departments to coordinate best practices and minimize risk
• Use of data analytics is key in this role; particularly as it relates to resource supply/demand, contracting terms and profitability
• Work closely with Grant Thornton managers and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues
• Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
• Think strategically about practice enhancements and be able to implement and manage change
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of work experience recruiting individuals to fill open job requisitions.
• Experience working with subcontractors and staffing project-based assignments.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a client-facing role to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Familiarity with the finance industry, including typical roles, responsibilities, and assignments within the field.
• Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
• Outstanding leadership, business development, recruiting, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work additional hours and/or travel as needed.
