Summary:
Plan, direct and manage the Intraday Risk and Strategic Risk efforts to ensure development and implementation of cost-effective systems and efficient operations to meet current and future decision-making requirements. Ability to increase functional skills within the organization drives constant innovation and process improvements. Provide direction in areas of policy, procedures and planning.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide input to strategic direction of department and directly influence business direction
• Develop strategic plans, processes and solutions
• Direct and drive successful business relationships with key internal partners and significant external partners
• Direct development and reporting of performance and direct actions to continuously improve departmental management
• Develop business and budget plans that support both the long-term and the short-term objectives of the company
• Maintain project controls that accurately reflect completed work against project plans, schedules and budgets, and ensure user/management involvement at appropriate milestones
• Operate areas of responsibility within approved budgets and staffing levels
• Ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain direct communications with senior and middle management
• Meet complex business needs in an efficient, flexible, and ever improving manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Responsible for performance reviews, ensure proper training, and hold regular staff and status meetings
• Create a work environment that is positive, innovated, motivated, enthusiastic and embraces change
• Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace
Qualifications:
• Strong and effective negotiating skills
• Ability to formulate strategies and establish goals
• Ability to effectively communicate, listen, present ideas, sell ideas and build relationships
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse groups.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and team-focused environment
• Understanding of financial accounting principles and budgetary issues
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
• Experience managing high-level technical delivery
Technical Skills:
• Experience with Microsoft Office desktop tools (Project, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point).
• Requires a broad knowledge of systems and application development technological alternatives
• Experience with state of the art application development support software packages
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
• Typically has 10 or more year of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 3 years of leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross functional teams or projects, and influencing upper management and key stakeholders.
