The Business Entitlements Program was established in 2017 to provide governance and support to improve the quality of access management controls. Business Entitlements are a fundamental control which helps protect the Firm against fraud as well as cyber-attacks.
Due to the complexity of the environment and increasing risk associated with system access, the Firm needs to ensure business controls continue to evolve in line with technology. Business unit participation and ownership is critical to enhancing and enforcing the controls. The Business Entitlements Program Office is responsible for driving business unit engagement and accountability in strengthening the access management controls.
The Program is sponsoring a number of new initiatives which will require a culture change across the Firm. Historically, access management was seen as the purview of the IT security organization and the IT development teams which build and support the systems. There is growing recognition that business teams need to play a greater role in managing entitlements.
The Business Entitlements program team works closely with Access Management Technology and Operations within Tech and Info Risk. The Training and Communications lead will report to the Business Entitlements Program Office Lead.
