Ameritas is seeking an Account Sales Executive to drive the business by managing the sales relationship with assigned strategic partners. This includes; marketing and sales support for assigned partners in the areas of product development, sales and renewal strategies, marketing materials, and training (system, product, process). The Sales Account Executive serves as the liaison between alliance partners and ALIC staff. The Sales Account Executive is responsible for maintaining persistency and generating new sales revenue from assigned partners.
Essential Functions:
• The emphasis of this position is to manage service and support assigned partnering alliances to achieve revenue growth and profit objectives.
• The Sales Account Executive will be assigned primary responsibility for multiple partnering alliances and managing office relationships assigned to them. The Sales Account Executive will have accountability for achieving revenue growth from assigned partnering arrangements. This will include working effectively with Underwriting, Actuarial and other areas of the Group Division to reach sales, persistency, and profitability objectives.
• The Sales Account Executive will function as the primary source of information about the products, marketing materials, training programs, sales strategies, and other pertinent information for assigned partnering alliances. The incumbent will develop and maintain an inventory of this information.
• A key area of responsibility for the Sales Account Executive is in providing marketing and sales closing support to assigned partnering alliances. Serving as a communication link between Ameritas, the partnering alliance sales force, and the partner's sales management team is critical. Areas in which support will be provided include product development, market research/intelligence, impact of pricing changes, large case enrollments, training programs, sales communication pieces, individual case sales, and management reports. The incumbent will direct, manage, and implement special projects and key initiatives/strategies to increase sales and improve profitability.
• A key function of the position includes joint field sales work with the partner alliances, monitoring quote activity and review of Large Cases over $100,000. The Sales Account Executive will conduct field sales meetings quarterly with each assigned field office as well as accompany sales reps on Large Case presentations and broker calls as appropriate.
• The Sales Account Executive maintains positive and effective working relationships with the sales force, management, and Home Office staff of each assigned partnering alliance, and serves as liaison with Ameritas staff in the Group departments and Corporate Services areas. The incumbent will interface directly with partner Sales Management to develop and implement dental and eye care business marketing plans.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
The incumbent should have a bachelor's degree or similar industry experience. Should possess or be willing to pursue an insurance industry designation (CEBS, CLU, FLMI). A background in group dental and eye care insurance is preferred, with knowledge of Dental products and administration. The incumbent must possess superior interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills. This position is more sales in nature than technical assisting in the overall trilogy of training/support and ongoing maintenance of the partnering alliances.
The greatest challenge for this position is to achieve production expectations from each assigned partnership alliance; to maintain positive relationships with the partners while managing/responding to their expectations; to maintain knowledge of the partnering alliance sales strategies as well as Ameritas'; to coordinate and interact effectively with Ameritas resources in achieving partnering alliance objectives; to maintain budget with expected quarterly travel requirements.
This position requires significant travel.
