The IT Category Manager position is an individual contributor role responsible for the sourcing of IT related products and services. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams in qualifying vendors, selecting vendors offering the best overall value, negotiating contract terms and conditions, working with the Legal Department to mitigate risks, implementing contracts, and monitoring and managing vendor performance on an on-going basis.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the contract life cycle of one or more IT spend categories
• Develop and maintain expertise in the category being managed by analyzing trends and dynamics of the current market
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms and conditions and manage contract implementation
• Work with key stakeholders to determine specific needs of the business
• Facilitate cross-functional teams in developing sourcing strategy
• Identify vendors with the capability to meet business requirements
• Prepare RF(x) and lead teams in the source selection process
• Manage and monitor vendor performance on an on-going basis
• Craft and implement pricing and contracts that align complex needs with legal requirements to achieve desired business outcomes
• Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
• Experience in IT category management / strategic sourcing
• Proven track record of negotiations tactics and strategies resulting in cost savings and risk avoidance
• Ability to read, comprehend, and redline complex contract terms and conditions
• Strong ability to communicate with business owners, legal, and other stakeholders
• Relevant BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
• MBA, CPSM or other applicable education or certifications highly desirable
• Strong MS Office Skills
