The primary purpose of the Marketing Specialist position is to support all aspects of direct-to-consumer email marketing strategies targeting AIG Direct’s database. This position will have a key role in the set up as well as the day to day maintenance of the email marketing platform, reporting and analysis, testing and optimization of database marketing campaigns. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible of the execution of email marketing communications, ensuring privacy and CAN-SPAM compliance, providing performance insight to support innovative marketing campaigns to engage, nurture and convert prospects.
The ideal candidate is organized, highly analytical, detail-oriented, a self-starter, creative problem solver, innovative thinker; excellent in verbal and written communication skills and able to work independently as well as in a collaborative work setting.
Primary tasks for the role will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Design, set up multi-format, multi-variable, personalized and technically complex campaigns.
• Analyze and interpret results from email marketing campaigns, share findings and make recommendations to key stakeholders
• Regularly run tests for email marketing campaigns, including subject lines, dynamic content, creative layout, and targeting to optimize performance
• Understand system functionalities of the Oracle mailing platform to provide insight on best practices in data structuring and integration to external sources to help ensure business needs are implemented
• Responsible for creating, deploying and reporting on performance of email campaigns. This includes, but isn’t limited to,
• Creating HTML and/or plain text messages
• QA all content, tracking and list aspects for accuracy before each deployment
• Maintain reporting metrics on database marketing efforts
• Maintain and distribute promo calendar.
• Assist Email Marketing Manager in identifying list segments within the AIG Direct database to help ensure proper data selection in setting up a stand-alone and/or multi-step marketing campaigns
• Management of creative materials
• Responsible for ensuring proper management of various types of assets including HTML files, TXT files and images within the mailing platform’s content library
• Responsible for keeping creative files organized and updated in the department’s shared drive during creative development as well as legal and compliance review process (ensuring changes are properly tracked and documented)
• Management of legal and compliance requirements including but not limited to the following:
• CAN-SPAM: Responsible of ensuring all opt-out requests from various internal and
external sources are updated to the company’s master suppression list in a timely manner.
• Responsible of ensuring creative materials are up-to-date in reflecting the most current disclosures
and other regulatory requirements as defined by the Legal and Compliance department
Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate must possess:
• Bachelor's degree preferred, not required
• Familiarity with email marketing management platforms (Preferably Oracle Responsys and/or Eloqua)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic, demonstrate a passion for what you do every day
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
• Must be an organized self-starter with the ability to handle and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously with minimum error.
• Experience with database structures
