Zions Public Finance Inc. has just opened an opportunity for a Public Finance Relationship Manager based in the Salt Lake City area, covering the state of Utah.
Ideal candidates will have the skills and experience necessary to:
• Assume responsibility for maintaining and managing accounts and relationships for new and existing municipal clients.
• Prospect, develop, generate and follow-up on new client leads to build a book of business.
• Maintain a high level of client satisfaction by generating, managing and servicing a portfolio of clients.
• Call on existing relationships to review needs and make recommendations as needed.
• Evaluate, advise, and structure financing alternatives for municipalities.
• Solicit and evaluate underwriter bids and other bids related to bond issues.
• Manage and schedule implementation of financing program for clients.
• Perform related client consulting work.
• Respond to requests for proposals for financial advisory services.
• Travel overnight as needed.
• Occasionally lead and train analytical staff.
• May be asked to perform other duties and special projects.
Qualifications
What you need to bring to the table:
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 + years of experience with public finance, accounting, along with an understanding of local government operations and issues and structuring of taxable and tax-exempt municipal debt issues. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.
• Ability to identify, structure and manage transactions from start to completion.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting and finance related to government entitles. • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, verbal, written, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Ability to clearly and succinctly express complex financial concepts both verbally and in writing.
• Superior expertise in managing multiple project-oriented tasks and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while being team-oriented.
• Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills.
• Ability to perceive beyond the obvious when developing solutions.
• Ability to learn Federal Tax Law as it relates to public finance as well as statutory financing rules and regulations.
• Must possess a high level of motivation, initiative and leadership skills.
• Proven strategic thinking, communication, time management, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to quickly learn other finance-related software products as needed.
• Ability to lead and train lower level staff.
