Position Overview

As an Audit Director for the Capital Markets audit team, this Director will manage a team of professionals and be responsible for the audit coverage of Investment and Capital Markets within Freddie Mac.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing the audit plan and providing audit coverage for the Investment and Capital Markets (ICM) division as well as the second line of defense oversight
• Refining the audit approach to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
• Overseeing the execution of audits including assurance audits, issue follow up, and on-going monitoring. Main tasks include scope decision, work paper review, issue identification and vetting, and report issuance
• Building trusted business partner relationship through demonstrating business knowledge and providing value-added recommendations
• Leading a high performing team through motivating and providing clear and effective directions to the audit team including managers and supervisors
Qualifications
• 15+ years of directly related experience, including 10+ years of previous experience in public accounting, risk management or internal audit in the financial service industry; other relevant experience may be considered
• In-depth knowledge and experience in Capital Markets specifically market risk management, liquidity risk management, counterparty credit risk management and securitization
• Balance of capital markets knowledge (not deep experience) and leadership
• Demonstrated critical thinking skill, ability to have a big picture view while able to dive into details to identify root cause
• Proven leader in developing and motivating a diverse team
• Demonstrated ability to build professional relationship with clients and influencing change
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, Active CIA, CPA, or CFA certification
