The Expertise We’re Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics preferred, or a BA in a discipline requiring a strong communication and research background.
• 3-5 years of work experience in a financial field.
The Purpose of Your Role
The Investment Production Manager position supports the FIAM Compliance Approved Product Presentation Standards (CAPPS) program. This work involves updating product pitch books with mutual fund and index holdings, characteristics, performance, and attribution data. In addition to the CAPPS program, the Investment Production Manager works on other Asset Management product collateral, projects, research, and reports. The role requires an agile-minded individual who is capable of working with an array of economic, index, and mutual fund data to conduct investment analysis, performance measurement, and reporting. In addition, the individual has a strong attention to detail, an unwavering commitment to producing quality and error-free work, and an ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
The Skills You Bring
• Advanced Microsoft Excel user able to utilize formulas, pivot tables, and other tools to manipulate large quantities of data.
• Experienced Microsoft PowerPoint user able to graphically articulate data and implement design standards.
• Experience with Morningstar Direct, FactSet, Lipper, and/or SimFund is a plus.
• Knowledge of Equity, Sector Strategy, Asset Allocation, or Real Estate mutual fund products preferred.
• Ability to produce error-free work.
• Capability to work with large quantities of data.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and balance competing priorities under tight timeframes.
• General investment knowledge with a demonstrated understanding of financial services products.
• Excellent verbal, analytical, and written skills.
The Value You Deliver
• Update external-facing Fidelity mutual fund product presentations that present fund/index performance, holdings, characteristics, attribution, market, competitor, and/or peer group data. In addition to data updates, quarterly data policy, compliance, and proofreading revisions must be implemented consistently and universally.
• Build and update a variety of internal presentations, including materials for quarterly portfolio manager meetings, quarterly market reviews, and mutual fund industry business reviews.
• Compile, aggregate, and articulate data related to Fidelity Asset Management mutual fund products, competitor funds and landscape, index positioning, asset class industry positioning, Morningstar and Lipper peer groups, and economic and market conditions.
• Update monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to fund positioning, assets, flows, performance, holdings overlap, trade activity, rankings, holdings, and characteristics.
• Provide timely ad hoc support across broad areas of specialization, including data sourcing, PowerPoint graphic support, and business partner collaboration.
• Meet deadlines, typically under tight timeframes, in the composition and delivery of presentation materials and reporting responsibilities. Quality cannot be sacrificed, yet deadlines must be met. Investment Production owns the end-to-end delivery of the tasks within its area of responsibility.
• Follow-up with business partners to ensure all tasks are completed as directed, thoroughly and accurately.
• Develop extensive working knowledge of internal and third-party financial applications with the ability to turn around requests quickly.
• Determine the best way to aggregate and display data in table or graphical format in order to convey the appropriate product positioning and messaging.
• Extensive use of Excel and PowerPoint to manipulate data into a digestible medium for various audiences.
• Maintain a high service standard in all activities.
How Your Work Impacts the Organization
Investment Production is part of the FIAM Marketing Operations group, a division of Fidelity Institutional Asset Management. Investment Production primarily supports the analytical and consultative work of the Investment Product group and Institutional Portfolio Management. The team describes and develops Asset Management products; contributes to a clear, consistent Asset Management story; articulates investment philosophies and styles of fund managers; explains performance attribution; and conducts research and analysis at the macro, sector, and fund levels. The objective of this work is to support the teams that tell the Asset Management story to attract and retain assets.
