Position Overview
As a Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst, you will be a key part of the team that produces all daily tactical intelligence in support of Freddie Mac’s Cyber Security Program. You will also support the production of strategic intelligence to assist key decision makers in the determining risks and appropriate mitigation strategies within the company. This will include both direct and indirect support of customer intelligence needs and requirements. Potential tasks include analyzing threat landscapes and the designing, implementing, and directing of the overall collection of cyber threat intelligence.
Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories:
Intelligence Analysis
• Monitors various sources for threat intelligence on a continuous basis; Including, commercial and OpenSource tools to quickly analyze, detect, and mitigate potential cyber security incidents.
• Analyze and research known indicators of compromise (IOCs), correlate events, identify malicious activity, and discover new intelligence sources to provide early warning related to a variety of Cyber threats.
• Ensure threat information sources address all components of the threat profile and are effectively prioritized and monitored.
• Analyze Threat Intelligence and security related activities for the development of cyber threat summaries including risks to the institution and specific actions for the institution to consider.
• Provide independent critical thinking to diagnose and analyze threat intelligence data and making decisions on response and mitigation.
Collaboration
• Responsible for the collection and analysis of cyber threat intelligence to enable security posture improvements as well as informed detection and response strategies by working with the various lines-of-business.
• Must be able to effectively communicate the sharing IOCs and other threat indicators with trusted parties for validation and collaboration.
• Must be able to establish and maintain business relationships with individual contributors as well as management.
Communication
• Creating various structured and ad-hoc communications scaled to different audiences on both technical and non-technical topics.
• Develop comprehensive security write-ups which describe security issues, analysis, and remediation techniques to senior management.
• Assist the Cyber Threat Intelligence Manager by providing briefings and production support to senior executives.
• Develop internal documentation, such as detailed procedures, playbooks, and operational metrics reports as required.
• Execute daily ad-hoc tasks or lead small projects as needed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology or 4 years of a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Typically, 5-7 years related experience in Cyber Security or a related field.
• Previous experience in cyber threat intelligence and Information Security in a senior professional role.
• Experience with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources for the purposes of documenting results and analyzing findings to provide advanced threat intelligence
• Demonstrable understanding of computer networking concepts, communication protocols, primary threat actor attack methods and tools.
• Ability to understand and learn technical specifications, system requirements and other application design information as needed.
• Ability to use commercial and OpenSource tools to quickly analyze, detect, and respond to cyber security incidents Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail

Preferred Skills

• Financial services experience
• CISSP or security-related certification is desirable. Other relevant security certifications will be considered such as CEH, GCIH and GIAC.
