Credit Risk Analyst - GCB Credit Management
Description
Risk is present in all of Santander’s activities and effective Risk Management is a critical component of the Bank’s success. Through application of the Bank’s Risk Framework and the continuous identification and assessment of risk, Santander seeks to ensure that all of our businesses operate inside of clearly established limits, are able to proactively quantify exposures, and take corrective action when required.
As a member of the Credit Management division, you’ll be part of a diverse team of talented professionals who interact with senior risk team personnel, business managers and other Bank disciplines in order to understand business operations and dynamics, and analyze, monitor, and manage related risks.
Responsibilities:
The Credit Risk Analyst will provide independent oversight of all aspects of credit quality of assigned portfolios, including the approval process of transactions and the formal review process of the portfolio assigned as a whole. Their primary responsibilities consist of the review and approval of individual credits that require a Credit Officer or higher approval authority as per the Credit Approval Matrix, including recommendations of transaction structure.
• Review all credits on an after the fact basis that are approved solely by lending unit personnel as per the Credit Approval Matrix
• Monitor assigned lending units compliance with credit policy and underwriting standards
• Cooperate in the development of specialty lending underwriting standards and guidelines as well as being responsible for the overall credit quality monitoring of portfolios, including the review of financial statements, projections, delinquencies, risk ratings, industries, etc.
• Review and negotiation capacity of Credit Agreement, term Sheets, ISDA and CSA.
• Review the relationship managers workload and credit assignments of assigned units, and making recommendations as required
• Provide independent oversight of all aspects of credit quality of assigned portfolios, including the daily approval process of individual credits a daily approval process of individual credits and the formal review process of the portfolio assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Master’s degree preferred
• Strong accounting skills (US GAAP and IRSF) and projection modeling
• Experience with Multinationals and Latin America customer base
• At Least 2 to 5 Years Specialized Knowledge
• Demonstrated track record of success in structuring, monitoring, risk rating complex loan facilities
• Should be a self-starter with strong work ethic
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Spanish preferable
