Qualifications
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) is seeking a credit executive to oversee Credit Policy & Procedures, Internal Audit relations and a wide array of Departmental Operations for Wealth Management Credit in support of the MSSB Broker-Dealer (MSSB). Wealth Management Credit is responsible for approving and monitoring credit facilities related to a multi-billion securities based lending portfolio and a sizable portfolio of traded product exposures (futures, listed options and FX).
This role will report directly to the Head of Credit for MSSB while also working closely with senior managers within the department, the Firm’s Credit Policy & Procedures group and senior Internal Audit and Compliance representatives. This individual will also interact and work on multiple projects involving Credit colleagues covering the Private Bank, front line Business units, Systems IT Project support and regulatory bodies such as FINRA, NYSE and FRB.
MSWM provides a range of wealth management products and services for affluent individuals, businesses and institutions including brokerage and investment advisory, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, cash management, annuities and insurance, retirement and trust.
The open position is for a Vice President based in New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, document and implement all Credit Policy and/or Procedures related changes and additions in the MSSB Broker-Dealer
• Liaise with the Credit Policy team and present proposed policy changes to governing committees
• Lead on strategic projects impacting the MSSB Broker-Dealer
• Collaborate with Internal Audit and Compliance on related audits, issues and action plans
• Point person and approver for the MSSB Broker-Dealer for the New Product Committee (“NPA”) approval process
• Direct management responsibilities including hiring, training and mentoring of summer interns and temps
• Responsible for identifying, prioritizing and coordinating IT projects supporting Broker Dealer initiatives during the Firm’s annual budgeting process
• Manage various internal Broker-Dealer Credit portfolio level data streams showing workflow data, pipeline reporting and renewal backlog reports giving senior management better transparency
• Collaborate with Front Line Business Units and various groups across the Risk Organization to formulate project plans for remediation of any internal or external audit findings or process changes
• Point person for CAS strategic plan and all enhancements required
• Coordinate and prepare responses for regulatory bodies including FINRA, NYSE and FRB
