Role Value Proposition: The AVP, Solution Delivery Lead will provide leadership to enable advanced digital workplace and collaborations capabilities through understanding of MetLife technology landscape, business processes, risks, and prevailing industry trends. This role will work with internal and external partners to deliver a set of common services to be used by front end application development teams. The candidate must be able to drive innovative thinking that delivers integrated capabilities for MetLife associates.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with key business and technology stakeholders to develop back-end services supporting the global intranet and HR platforms
• Partner with development teams and vendors to identify technology solutions considering functionality, security, integration infrastructure and performance to meet business needs and align to the overall MetLife direction
• Lead the design and implementation of common data repositories, API services, enterprise search engine, and global and local application stores
• Responsible for tier 3 support including responding to escalations, resolving user problems, and identifying areas for continuous improvement
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
• 10-15+ years of experience in software application/product development roles
• 5-10+ years of applicable experience in managing software development teams including experience managing large, complex initiatives and\or conversions.
• Expert understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process.
• Experience of developing Services Orientated Architectures (SOA)
• Practical Knowledge in networking, security and authentication
• Broad technical knowledge across multiple technologies including newer technologies such as microservices, data management strategies, integration methodologies
• Served as infrastructure or operations leader overseeing applications deployed in a mixed on-prem and cloud environments
• Experienced in managing cross functional team comprised of internal staff and vendor resources
• Strategic business acumen and understanding of organization strategy and ability to design information systems to delivery that strategy
• Proven project management experience in the implementation of complex business applications
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and teaming skills; skills and experience in executive level communication and presentations.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of organization strategy and ability to design information systems to delivery that strategy
