Department Profile:
Corporate Services is comprised of a vast array of business units that keep Morgan Stanley working efficiently. They range from managing Morgan Stanley’s global real estate portfolio to overseeing its business continuity strategy, Global Security program, and global workforce strategy. Whether booking airline tickets, conducting market research, planning to expand into a new location or preparing a presentation, employees rely on Corporate Services for the support they need. Its business units oversee mail, copier and fax services, desktop publishing, website design, print materials, and gift items. Corporate Services manages our offices, power and plumbing, our cafeterias and catering, not to mention managing large-scale architectural and construction projects
The Office of the Chief Operating Office team is a part of the wider Global Corporate Services division and the mission is to unify the diverse Corporate Services functions to enhance organizational effectiveness enabling us to deliver superior service, drive effective BU client relationships and to provide Corporate Services leadership at branch and regional office locations.
Office of the COO is responsible for the Corporate Services strategy, finance, talent development & communications, technology, office services, branch management and risk initiatives.
CS Business Process and Technology is responsible for linking the CS business objectives with delivery of Information Technology solutions in order to optimize our technology investment across the department. Project Manager/analysts utilize business analysis and program and project management skill sets to insure successful execution of business/technology aligned solutions.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
• Identify, refine, and accurately articulate the business objectives and value proposition of key CS initiatives
• Work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements effectively based on business value, risks and constraints
• Successfully manage the relationship with clients, technology and stakeholders
• Bring alternative perspectives and influence consensus among stakeholders
• Participate in the development of a compelling business case that measure and communicate proposed project benefits
• Document business and functional requirements, including data flows, business rules, and use cases
• Interface with CS functional owners to understand their need, document requirements and facilitate planning with technology for deployment of infrastructure services and applications
• Manage Corporate Services IT Request tool for Project Demand management and Project Approvals
• Overall project management as well as project execution
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of various projects
• Develop project plans to monitor and track progress
• Manage changes to project scope, schedule and costs
• Successfully manage the relationship with clients, technology and stakeholders
• Identify, track, and resolve/escalate project risks and/or issues
• Report and escalate to management as needed
• Support project and program awareness and communication
• Create and maintain comprehensive project governance, documentation and reporting
• Monitor/measure performance against targets and highlight issues, risks and accomplishments
• Reporting: Synthesize collected information into clear and concise reports for various audiences, including Executive level. Articulate key messages in high quality visual presentations
Qualifications
Requirements:
• 6-8+ years of work experience in Project Management within Technology support organizations; Corporate Services responsibilities are ideal
• 6+ years of Business Analysis
• Positive, pro-active, can-do attitude
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Ability to define and drive business process definition excellence across diverse functional teams
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to draft succinct and impactful messages
• Ability to extract, aggregate, and report on data in Excel
• Ability to work within an open, consensus based organization
• Highly motivated, self-starter
• Extraordinary problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to handle multiple large assignments simultaneously
