J.W. Terrill a Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) is currently seeking a Claims Specialist in our Commercial Lines Depart. The position is responsible to provide prompt,accurate and courteous service in accordance with proscribed claims and customer service requirements. Serve as an advocate for and liaison with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) involved in claim resolution. Knowledge in both Workers Compensation and Liability disciplines with primary focus on Workers Compensation Claims.
The Essential Functions of this position are as follows:
• Processes claims and lawsuits by gathering information and reporting to the insurance company by:
• Completing necessary claim forms from written or verbal reports of claim information for submission to carrier same day, ascertaining specific coverages required and evidence coverage exists and is in effect.Logging all claim activity in specific claim account.
◦ Complete suspense and follow-up within two (2) days on all requests of clients, producers, account coordinators.
• Ensures that claim information for all open and closed claims is documented and maintained in accordance with agency procedures.
◦ Processes all Client requests for service, including:
◦ Claim status inquiry.
◦ Submitting information to insurance companies or claims adjustment companies the day request received.
◦ Informing Producers/Account Managers of all significant losses.
◦ Reviewing all coverage possibilities or questionable coverage denial by carrier.
◦ Schedule and attend claim reviews on all Partner accounts
◦ Assist in completing stewardship reports with loss control and provide significant input
◦ Assist client with settlement value discussions with carrier.
◦ Provide Claims expertise to Producers, meeting directly with the existing or prospective client in support of the producer when needed
◦ Review and project clients’ Experience Modification Rate (EMR) including detailed analysis and benchmarking
◦ Maintain current knowledge of specific state laws and communicate to clients when appropriate by:
◦ Attending seminars
◦ Reviewing subject material periodically
◦ Communicating with carrier adjusters and attorneys to get current information.
Qualifications
The Position Qualifications for this role are:
Education/Training:
Required: High School or equivalent
Preferred: Insurance or Business Degree
Experience:
Required: 3-5 years multi-line claims experience.
Preferred: 1-2 years commercial lines agency experience
License(s)/Certifications Required:
Valid MO Producer’s license

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, stoop, and kneel. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust and focus.
