Description
Zurich is currently looking for a Senior Financial Governance Analyst to work out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Primary responsibilities include supporting management to ensure internal controls over financial reporting are in place and operating effectively. Work with an experienced team to bring innovative solutions to management to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment. Support business partners to understand the root cause of financial reporting errors identified and help develop remediation plans.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
• Support the development and implementation of an efficient and effective financial control framework
• Actively participate in the creation and updating of Group and local ICFR policies and procedures
• Support completion of financial risk and control assessments.
• Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure high-quality risk and control execution.
• Analyze processes to identify risks and control weaknesses
• Participate in cross functional groups to implement or enhance controls based on organizational transformations
• Bring a systematic and disciplined approach to maintain the control environment
• Ability to document processes from start to finish through the collaboration with subject matter experts
• Ability to design and execute the testing of internal controls and facilitate the related remediation for control deficiencies identified
• Ability to promote and educate cross functional partners on the importance of internal controls
• Recognize the impact of major external or internal changes to the control environment
• Develop presentations tailored to audiences at various levels and business functions to communicate internal control findings
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8 or more years of experience related to Finance, Accounting, Business
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Preferred Qualifications
• Insurance industry experience
• Public accounting experience
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite and Visio experience
