Profile Summary:
Voluntary pricing role within the Employee Benefits division supporting a significant growth area for the company. Operates with a high degree of autonomy and has full responsibility for the direction and completion of ongoing projects while working on a regular basis with key functions such as underwriting, products, operations, finance, and sales.
Profile Description:
• Coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analysis to assist in the development of rates, pricing strategies, and financial forecasts used in actuarial recommendations and reporting.
• Routinely review competitive environment for voluntary products.
• Develop and maintain pricing models.
• Perform experience analysis and assist in actuarial product filings.
• Develop, calculate and/or check policy values, net premiums, reserves and/or non-forfeiture values
• Assist in preparation of actuarial response and communication of results of actuarial research to product management areas.
• Provide consultation and clarification on actuarial models and risk issues.
• Participate in Actuarial Student Rotation Program.
Knowledge & Experience:
• Bachelors’ degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or related business discipline
• Completion of 5-6 actuarial exams; ASA
• 3-4+ years finance, insurance industry, or actuarial experience
• 2-3 years of voluntary product pricing experience to include individual life and group accident, group critical illness, group hospital or group disability
• Solid base understanding of insurance products and insurance company operations
• Excellent computer skills (especially Excel, Access, Visual Basic)
• Strong oral and written communication skills; able to communicate with manager, team members and partners/customers
• Detail oriented and strong analytical problem-solving skills
