Position Summary:
We are looking for a Benefits Manager to join our client's Human Resources team based in Aventura, FL. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in all aspects of Benefits Strategy & Administration, be customer service and detail oriented, and be highly proficient in Excel and working in HRIS systems. This role will be responsible for defining the strategy of current and future Benefits Plans, administering all benefit plans, creating reports to highlight trends to senior leadership, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations and filings, maintaining all plan documents and required forms, and operate as a subject matter expert for all benefits-related questions.
You'll be successful in this role because you are passionate about employee benefits and compliance, ensuring employees have the support they need, and the company is protected through your efforts complying with state and federal labor policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop overall company Benefits strategy, including implementing new plans, modifying existing plans, developing company wellness policy, and ensuring that the company's offerings are competitive within the markets it operates in
• Plans and executes implementation and administration of employee benefit programs such as health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, employee assistance, retirement, and other plans.
• Analyzes and evaluates services, coverage, and options available through insurance and investment companies to determine programs best meeting needs of the organization.
• Monitor budget allocations for employee benefits.
• Analyzes participation and utilization for all benefits on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Analyzes benefits experience for cost-control and risk-assessment factors.? Uses data to monitor trends and recommend educational initiatives, benefit plan changes, vendor changes, cost-sharing, etc.
• Maintains knowledge of and analyzes government regulations, benefit program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations.? Ensures compliance of benefits administration with federal and state laws, including IRS and Department of Labor regulations.
• Ensures timely completion and submission of required reports, such as annual Form 5500. Provides information to consultants and auditors for testing and preparation of reports.
• Oversees benefit enrollment process, including monthly enrollment meetings and annual open enrollment meetings, to ensure employees receive accurate information and enrollments are completed on a timely basis.? Directs maintenance of employee benefits data in automated human resources information systems.
• Ensures necessary plan documents are in place and government-mandated disclosures, e.g. summary documents, are distributed to eligible employees.? Oversees development of informative materials from vendors, ensures availability of adequate materials and develops appropriate Company materials in-house.
• Research and respond to complex questions from employees and leaders regarding the interpretation of benefits plans, including eligibility, covered services, and exclusions.
• As needed, investigates and resolves problems involving delivery of and payment for services by contacting health care professionals and other service providers, benefit plan providers, and employees.
• Administers and evaluates wellness and healthcare educational programs to promote healthy lifestyles and changes in health care utilization and compliance.
• Administers and evaluates financial education programs to help employees understand financial concepts, develop financial goals and prepare for retirement.
Financial Responsibilities
This position will be fully responsible for the management of the Health & Welfare budget, as directed by the Senior Manager, Compensation & Benefits.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
• Minimum of two years experience in Benefits Management, with knowledge of Section 125 regulations, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, IRS, and FLSA regulations
• Experience developing benefits and wellness strategies
• Minimum of two years experience working in an HRIS system (such as UltiPro, ADP, or Workday)
• Experience with self-funded plans highly preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Access, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)
• Ability to research complex questions and conduct complex analysis of claims, budget projections, etc
• Customer service focused, have a passion for process improvement, be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Detail oriented; demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, as well as strong data entry skills
• Bilingual Preferred
• CCB or CEBS a plus
