POSITION SUMMARY:
The position supports the Institutional Investment & Endowment Services (IIES) business line, and the TIAA Endowment and Philanthropic Services (TEPS) Division. The Sr Financial Analyst would play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of business financial operations through supporting the budgeting, flows & revenue reporting, billing & accounts receivable management for TEPS 150+ clients, and supporting the production of legal entity financial statements while providing Business Leaders and Management Teams with decision support through the use of management reporting, future-focused analytics, predictive modeling capabilities, decision tools and problem-solving support. This position assists in our businesses financial planning, budgeting and forecasting requirements and partners with the CFP&A team to achieve accurate allocation of expense alignment to Product Lines and Legal Entities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Preparing monthly financial, budget/forecast, scorecard, and variance reports
Contributes to multiyear budgeting for flows, revenue, and expenses
Processes quarterly client invoices for accuracy and monitors Accounts Receivables
Perform General Ledger & Financial Report maintenance; responsible for review & timely posting of entries
Maintain substantiation documentation for general balance sheet itess, reconciles monthly ledger closing, including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivable, capital projects, and liaiblities
Evaluate client relationships for pricing and profitability
Reviews business area process documentation, evaluates controls and develop procedure documentation; assists with perioidic reviews & audits
Assist with project management and perform ad hoc analysis
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
4 plus years of accounting/analysis experience
Strong Excel user (pivot tables, advanced formulas including vlookup and embedded formulas, arrays, data analysis functions, charts, conditional formatting, etc)
Preferred:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics
Experience in the preparation and review of invoices and receivables management
Ability to analyze complex general ledger account balances and the transactions contained therein, for reasonableness, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principals.
Understanding of the monthly financial close process, including journal entry preparation & review, sub-ledger and supporting schedule documentation, initial review of financial statements and ability to timely and effectively idenitfy concerns to management.
Effective in partnering with non finance & accounting business departments/ areas to understand their issues and perform analysis to assist them in the evaluation of their budgets & operations. Strong interpersonal communication and business writing skills.
Experience with Hyperion, Essbase, MS Office, and Peoplesoft financial systems
