Overview
Responsible for periodic credit monitoring and underwriting activity for an assigned portfolio of leveraged loan accounts. Supports senior level officers in preparing credit applications, reviewing quarterly loan reports, conducting regular credit reviews of loans in the portfolio and providing research and analytics.
Responsibilities
• Underwrite increases to total facility, M&A transactions, dividends, refinancing and repricing transactions that arise out of the current portfolio.
• Analyze, negotiate and prepare credit applications for amendments
• Act as direct account manager for assigned stressed accounts
• Prepare credit analysis for quarterly and annual reviews
• Assist the Head of Portfolio in various reporting and presentations to senior management as well as support the overall monitoring and management of the portfolio
• Provide training and guidance to junior analysts in credit monitoring skills
• Preparation of financial projection models including Base Case and development of Stress Case scenario
• Review of projections and budget achievement
• Utilize a variety of IT systems including customer setup, compliance, portfolio management systems, etc
Qualifications
• 5-7 years of comparable or relevant experience, 2-3 experience working as a credit analyst at a corporate bank or other financial institution preferred, Middle Market lending credit experience is a plus
• BA or BS degree required. Advance accounting and finance coursework preferred
• CFA designation is a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) required
• Experience with research databases such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ is a plus
