Position Summary
The Strategic Recruiting Consultant (SRC) reports directly to and is supervised by their assigned SVP, Director of Advisor Operations (DAO). The SRC is a dynamic leadership role that requires expertise and experience in all areas of talent acquisition. The SRC is recognized as each division’s Recruiting Operations’ Subject matter Expert (SME) and will support both strategic and tactical recruiting operations. In this role the SRC will develop and execute long-range recruiting plans and short-term recruiting strategies to hire top talent in a highly competitive environment. The SRC is responsible for the quality of the division’s overall recruiting efforts to include sourcing, screening, qualifying, and interviewing Financial Advisor candidates. The SRC will partner with the DAO to develop a strategy and brainstorm ideas for creating ongoing candidate sourcing in the division through various tactics that may include networking, advisor referrals, career fairs, online sourcing, on-base transition office event participation, client referrals, recruiting training, recruiting at marketing events, resource development, etc.
Operationally, the SRC is responsible for assisting their respective DAO in developing Division recruiting plans to meet overall recruiting and growth goals. Locally, the SRC partners with each District Advisor (DA) to guide the construction of the district recruiting and Advisor growth plans. The SRC will oversee the execution of the strategic recruiting efforts to source, sell, select, sign, and successfully get qualified candidates through the licensing process. Successful SRCs are responsible for producing division recruiting results in collaboration with their DAO and VPDT.
Administratively, the SRC reports to the Director, Advisor Recruiting for administrative and organizational support.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a consultant to DAs to build strategic recruiting plans to meet recruitment and retention goals established by the DAO.
• Create, organize, and implement strategic recruitment plans and supporting initiatives to enhance the overall recruiting process and quality of hiring across the entire Division.
• Provide ongoing training, guidance and tools to DAs and Advisors to ensure that recruiting processes and policies are followed and supported.
• Train and coach DAs on effective recruiting and interviewing techniques to ensure the hiring of top talent.
• Track and report key recruiting metrics.
• Assists DAs in developing local recruiting plans; assesses district strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats; creates action plans to achieve recruiting goals.
• Assists DAs in designing, coordinating, and participating in a variety of recruiting actions and activities, that produce recruiting results when done consistently by the DA.
• Sources, screens, qualifies, and interviews candidates; recommends highly-qualified candidates for follow-on interviews with the DA; schedules and conducts comprehensive interviews of candidates in the field.
• Trains DA’s on Administering and interpreting behavioral assessments to ensure candidates’ suitability for sales roles.
• Supports Advisor Trainees through the securities exams and onboarding process.
• Coaches DAs on the essential elements of effective recruiting, as appropriate.
Travel
• Up to 50% of time
Supervisory Responsibility
• Train assigned Recruiting Specialist (RS) to ensure they are fully capable of using all the available recruiting sourcing and tracking resources.
• Coach them to have effective systems and processes that maximize time management and communication skills while providing targeted recruiting support for the division.
• Develop their recruiting and leadership skills by challenging them to take on projects or deliver support of their division’s recruiting and hiring goals in more visible ways. (i.e. covering career fairs, deliver recruiting briefings at DA Meetings, support FLD trainings, etc.)
• Lead and challenge them to develop themselves professionally through company supported training, as well as, other outside training or certifications.
Education
• Bachelors Degree required.
Work Experience
• 6+ years recruiting experience required
• 3+ years of sales management or recruiting management experience required
• Series 6, 7, 63, and/or 65 securities licensure; life/health licensure preferred
• Military service (or comparable) experience preferred
Certifications
• SPHR/PHR preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Recruiting methods, techniques, and practices, especially in the use of internet recruiting resources and field recruiting techniques.
• Proficient in utilizing major and specialized job boards, e.g., Indeed.com.
• Capable of developing and implementing strategic recruiting plans.
• Knowledge and understanding of military transition assistance programs.
• Able to travel up to 50% of time
• Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at prioritizing work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter and capable of independent work.
• Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office software, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
• Able to safeguard confidential information.
