Job Description:
Major Responsibilities
Working closely with Management as the technical resource to build and develop management tools and information databases that increase productivity and enhance the ability to analyze business performance.
• Defining user requirements for new data management tools and reports, through collaboration with the Management Team
• Developing databases to collect, store, analyze, report, and data, including:
◦ Creating databases to perform analysis and produce reports from multiple systems
◦ Developing and implementing fully functional applications with user interfaces, utilized by Underwriters and Management, integrating data from multiple sources (user inputs, mainframe data, third party vendors), while considering the demand for a real-time, multi-user, and multi-site environment
• Converting and re-building applications and reports to accommodate changing business needs, new product features, changing systems and platforms, acquired businesses (new data sources and processes), and the growth of the organization
Deliver Monthly reporting to appropriate business segment through the use of automated reports. Oversee the availability and communication of data.
• Managing the process of ensuring data availability
◦ Verifying data from databases is available and accurate (eg, comparative analysis of data sets)
• Updating and maintaining databases used for collection, storage, analysis to adapt to changing business needs and technology
◦ Developing data requirements and collaborating with IT to obtain necessary data extracts
◦ Working in partnership with IT and Business Area to ensure data extracts are performing to specifications and data downloads from source systems are complete
◦ Updating data management processes and tools to improve information, while anticipating the impact on related databases and mitigating risks
• Collaborating with employees across the organization to ensure data needs are met, including troubleshooting various data sources and databases
• Generating and distributing reports
• Formulating and communicating meaningful and actionable recommendations
Analyzing processes, data, and trends to identify opportunities to improve business practices.
• Analyzing information and trends, creating exhibits, and communicating findings and recommendations to the Management Team
• Creating models to test hypotheses, such as the impact of a predicted trend or the impact of a Management action
Documenting and communicating processes to ensure consistent, efficient, and effective tracking of information.
• Documenting the flow of data through the creation of workflow diagrams
• Overseeing the documentation of how the databases and processes used to manage data are updated and maintained
• Communicating with Management to convey understanding of user inputs and significance of information being reported
Provide ad-hoc on demand reports using knowledge of systems and databases to answer critical, immediate business problems. Problems will be presented in a raw form and will require independent thinking to address whether information can be provided to address the issue and how.

Education & Experience:
• 3 - 5 years of experience with databases and code writing
• SQL knowledge
• VBA, SAS experience
• Degree concentration in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or another quantitative field preferred
