Job Description:
At Regions, the Community Affairs Specialist ensures that the quality and timeliness of regular internal reports and examination preparation documentation are superior, accurate and timely.
Primary Responsibilities
• Actively participate in the contribution to overall departmental goals and objectives, successfully complete special tasks assigned and coordinate the functions of your assigned area of expertise
• Within assigned area, maintain and document qualified CRA investments, services and community development lending and other reporting critical for preparation for the CRA exam
• Assess performance on CRA investments, services, and loans, identify any deficiencies, if applicable and work with associates and market managers on corrective action plans
• Provide quarterly updates to Area Executives/City Presidents to discuss CRA internal self assessment results
• Establish and maintain active partnership with key local and regional community development organizations and bank staff that result in CRA lending, investments, services or accounts to the bank
• Develop ongoing relationship with commercial real estate, business banking, mortgage lending, consumer banking, commercial lenders, and others that will enhance their understanding and relationship to help the bank achieve its CRA goals
• Identify and maintain list of special loan programs or loan consortiums that Regions participates in for each assessment area within assigned region
• Make recommendations where appropriate to other line of business departments to increase or initiate participation in programs
• Seek opportunities to increase public awareness of Regions Community Development activities
• Work with local Marketing Director to seek public relations opportunities including community group newsletters, internal communications, or community development trade publications
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree
• Four (4) years experience
Skills and Competencies
• Strong knowledge of Community Reinvestment Act/HMDA regulations
• Analytical ability to assess needs and bring closure to deals
• Strong knowledge of financial services products
• Knowledge of housing programs and knowledge of business lending functions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be willing to travel
