POSITION SUMMARY:
The Institutional Retirement – Associate Financial Consultant (AFC) will interact with participants, prospects, new entrants and their beneficiaries and representatives concerning pre-tax and after-tax products and services. They will assist the Institutional Retirement – Financial Consultant in attaining asset growth and asset retention goals as well providing a distinctive customer experience that is executed accurately. The AFC may work with a variety of schedules including evenings, early mornings and occasional weekends. They will work additional hours during peak periods and may travel regularly, including overnight travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Provides Education and/or Advice on Employer Sponsored Plans as well as other financial solutions available at TIAA
• Supports the Financial Consultant in meeting asset growth and customer experience expectations
• Once licensed, conducts Financial Education Seminars
• Participates in benefits fairs and leads plan enrollment seminars in order to increase participation in TIAA products and services
• Interacts with participants and their representatives in-person (in the office and at the institution), by telephone and by e-mail/written correspondence
• Supports relationships with key institutional representatives
• Must comply with all regulatory requirements and remain in good standing with regulatory agencies
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2 to 3 years of experience of client service or financial services sales required
• Travel required. Valid U.S. Driver’s License required
• FINRA Series 7 and 63 Registered Representative and State Insurance Licensing within 120 days. Candidates with Series 7 and 63 strongly preferred at time of application
Preferred
• Professional designation strongly desired:CLU, ChFC, etc.
• Expert knowledge of financial planning concepts; including a broad knowledge of TIAA products.
• Must be highly organized and capable of proficiently handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and sales skills, including experience presenting to large audiences
• Agility in determining and managing priorities
